Fifth Street Pedestrian Bridge over 395 Traffic Advisory

Please be advised that starting the week of Monday, September 15, 2025, the Fifth Street Pedestrian Bridge Over 395 project will implement temporary northbound and southbound overnight lane closures on West Avenue between 8 Street and 5 streets. These lane closures will occur nightly for approximately two weeks.

Work during this phase shall consist of the installation of new underground power lines and the removal of the old overhead power lines.

Please note the following details:

• Northbound traffic on West Avenue from 5Street will not be permitted. Left turn lane will be closed.

• Southbound and northbound traffic on West Avenue from 8 Street will be closed.

• Local traffic access to West Avenue between 8 and 5 streets will be permitted.

Timeline

Lane closures will only be in place during evening hours from 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Extended times may sometimes be required. All efforts are being made to minimize impacts on area residents, pedestrians, and motorists. Schedule may change due to inclement weather or unexpected conditions.

What to Expect

• Please use extra caution when driving through work zones, stay alert and follow all traffic control directions.

• Allow extra time for possible delays due to intermittent traffic disruptions and temporary lane closures.

• Please consider alternate routes to your destination during this period.
