Good afternoon everyone,
We hope you're having a nice week so far. We wanted to provide an update on upcoming work as part of Phase II of the West Avenue Neighborhood Improvements Project.
๐ฝ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐๐ฎ, ๐๐๐ฉ๐ค๐๐๐ง ๐ฎ๐ฒ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ, road raising and harmonization efforts will begin on Lincoln Court, north of Lincoln Road. This work will be completed in three phases.
The project team has coordinated individually with each private property on Lincoln Court that will be affected as part of this phase of work. Residents and visitors on Lincoln Court can expect an increase in construction activity, including significant truck movement as material is delivered to raise the roadway. Bay Road north of Lincoln Road will serve as overflow parking for those residents who are displaced by construction.
As part of this effort, crews will be raising and rebuilding the Lincoln Court cul-de-sac with new brick pavers, storm drains, sidewalks, a new curb ramp and landing at the foot of the bridge, and rebuilt stairs. During this time, the Lincoln Court pedestrian bridge will be closed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for approximately six weeks until the work is complete. Pedestrians and cyclists should use West Avenue as the alternate route during the closure.๏ปฟ The bridge is currently anticipated to reopen in early December 2026, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen conditions. For everyone's safety, the project team asks that residents and visitors do not enter the fenced area or move barricades at any time.
Trash collection and deliveries will continue throughout this phase of construction. The project team will coordinate directly with individual properties as needed to maintain service and access. Motorists should allow additional travel time and follow posted detours and traffic-control signage.
