Good afternoon everyone,
We wanted to share some information and updates on behalf of the West Avenue Project team.

The contractor began removing trees on Lincoln Road from the seawall to Alton Road earlier this week in preparation for upcoming harmonization work. These trees were tagged for removal and will be replaced when the contractor restores the area following the approved landscaping plan for the corridor.

As part of the ongoing construction in Segment 2 of the West Avenue Neighborhood Improvements Project, the contractor is making preparations to close the Lincoln Road seawall for approximately one month in the next couple of weeks. This closure is in preparation for the upcoming harmonization work on Lincoln Road. 1450 Lincoln Road will remain accessible during this operation.

King Tide season continues into October, and we encourage residents and businesses to take steps to prepare for periods of unusually high tides and possible localized flooding. King Tides can be especially impactful when they occur alongside heavy rain or strong winds.
Oct. 7 - 13 (highest predicted tide: Oct. 10)
Oct. 24 - 30 (highest predicted tide: Oct. 26 & 27)
Nov. 6 - 9
Nov. 23 - 26

Know when 2026 King Tides are predicted, and text MBAlert to 888777 to receive emergency alerts via text.
If you live or park in a low-lying area, move your vehicle to higher ground before flooding occurs. Eligible residents in low-lying areas can register for the City's King Tide Parking Flood Relief Program, which provides free temporary parking accommodations during king tides. Click here for more information: https://www.miamibeachfl.gov/city-hall/parking/residents-only/parking-flood-relief-program/
Secure outdoor items and take steps to prevent water from entering your home or business.
Floodwater can be deeper and more hazardous than it appears.
If you observe flooding or standing water on the street, sidewalk or crosswalk within West Avenue Phase 2 Segments 2 and 3 during nights and weekends, contact the City of Miami Beach Public Works Control Room at 305.673.7625. When a report is received, Public Works will send a crew to investigate the location and pump the water as needed. This provides an additional way to address after-hours flooding conditions when the project contractor is not onsite.
Should you have any questions regarding this project, please contact me or my colleague, Heather Leslie, at 305-905-5876 or heather@hmlpublicoutreach.com.
