March 2026 Spring Break Activation:

During the COVID Spring Break madness residents like Kevin Krueger and SoBe West Board President Tim Carr advocated to our Mayor and City Commissioners to remake Miami Beach as a health, wellness, and fitness destination.  Special thanks to our Mayor, City Commissioners, and City Staff for listening and bringing our requests forward.

Last year the City started with Wodapalooza, Lifetime 305 Half Marathon & 5K, and Legendz HYROX Miami Beach CrossFit Racing. This year during the month of March into April 2026 we have:

  • 3/1: Lifetime 305

  • 3/12-15: Wodapalooza

  • 3/21-22: ATHX Invitational

  • 4/3-5: Legendz HYROX 4/3-5

  • 4/18-19: Model Volleyball Tournament

In addition, CROSSFIT Miami Beach located at 959 Alton Road has updated their entire facility with the latest Technogym equipment.  Stop in for a complimentary workout and check it out.

Support Our Local VFW:

Our local VFW neighbor continues to offer $1 Oysters on Friday night and Salsa Dancing on Saturday evenings.  Sunday March 28th they are doing an important fundraiser.

Please come out and support our local VFW and the many exciting city of Miami Beach Spring Break activation events.

Sidewalk Upkeep:

Dear Neighbors, this is a friendly reminder you’re responsible for upkeep and cleaning of your sidewalk to the street curb.  Keeping the grass trimmed, mulched contained, and sidewalk clean will enhance the appearance for a better neighborhood.

New Crosswalk Striping:

Thank you Luis Atencio Commissioner Magazine Aide for working with FDOT to finalzie crosswalk striping at 6th & West Avenue. More safety upgrades are in the works for this area thanks to a recent meeting  with Commissioner Magazine.

Bikini Hostel Update:

Thank you David Martin, Andrea, Blake Govan (Mayor Meiner’s Deputy Chief of Staff) and City Staff for helping expedite the fencing of the Bikini Hostel Property.  Next steps is property demo.  Special thanks to Officer Rodriquez & MBPD for stationing a police car to deter the recent Homeless break-in at the property.

Regards,

SoBe West Board of Directors
