REMINDER: Next SoBe West Community Meeting is on 6/9/26
Dear Community Residents & Businesses,
Just a reminder our next SoBe West Community Meeting is 6/9/26 at 5:30PM in the Bayview Room at The Waverly, 1330 West Avenue. Our newest community restaurant Cho Asian Bistro 1209 17th St. will be providing lite bites from their menu.
There will be a candidate forum with current District 5 County Commissioner - Vicki Lopez and opponent Joe Sanchez. In addition, you’ll be able to hear from District 106 FL State House Seat Democratic Primary Candidates Lucia Baez-Geller and Ashley Diego Litwin. The candidate winner of the August 18, 2026 primary will face off against current House Republican Representative Fabian Basabe in the November election.
As many of you may have seen, residents were surprised to see fence railings installed along the bay walls of 10th & 14th street parklets. Due to resident outcry, SoBe West worked with the city to have them removed. Here is a picture from the 10th St. parklet today with fence railings removed.
