West Avenue Phase 2 Update

Good morning, everyone. Happy Friday. Please see attached for the map detailing pedestrian accessibility. It includes yellow lines where there are open areas of sidewalk and crosswalk, and red lines where the sidewalk and crosswalk are closed. 

Segment 2 (West Avenue between the Post Office and just south of Lincoln Road; Lincoln Road between Alton Road and the Bay; and the Bay Road and Lincoln Court street ends)

1671 West Ave (Pump Station):

  • The east sidewalk is open from Lincoln Road to the Post office, and from the Trader Joe's garage to 17 Street. The sidewalk is closed directly in front of the pump station due to construction activity.

  • The west sidewalk is open from Lincoln Road to 17 Street.

Lincoln Road at West Avenue:

  • The eastern leg of the crosswalk is closed. Please use the western leg.

Lincoln Road at Alton Court:

  • The south sidewalk on Lincoln Road is now open at Alton Court.

Lincoln Road between West Avenue and Lincoln Court:

  • A temporary mid-block pedestrian pathway is in place in front of 1335 Lincoln Road. Sidewalk access on the north side of Lincoln Road is opened for pedestrians from West Avenue to Lincoln Court.

Lincoln Road at Bay Road:

  • The sidewalk is closed at the western leg the crosswalk at the intersection. Please use the open sidewalk and crosswalk on the north or south side of the street and eastern leg of the crosswalk.

  • There are two flagmen posted to control traffic and assist pedestrians within this work area.

Bay Road (North of Lincoln Road):

  • A mid-block temporary pathway is open on Bay Road just north of the work in the roadway to the east sidewalk.

  • The west sidewalk on Bay Road is closed mid-block south to Lincoln Road.

Segment 3  (West Avenue from just south of Lincoln Road to 16 Street; and 16 Street between Alton Road and Bay Road)

16th Street:

  • The sidewalk is closed on the north side of the street between West Avenue and Alton Court. Please use the south side of 16 Street to from West Avenue to Alton Road.

  • The eastern leg of the crosswalk at Bay Road is closed. Please use the western crosswalk.
