West Avenue Phase II Project Update 5/15/26

Happy Friday, everyone!

We’d like to share a few important upcoming operations that residents should be aware of over the next few weeks:

  • On Tuesday, May 19, construction crews will relocate a section of water main on the eastern side of 16 Street near the water quality well. During the operation, 1580 West Avenue and 1326 16 Street will experience a temporary water service interruption. The water shutdown is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and is anticipated to last about six hours.

  • Sanitary sewer installation on 16 Street is underway, and will continue over the next three weeks. The sewer pipe installation will proceed in phases: first west along 16 Street toward Bay Road, then east from the intersection and finally north along West Avenue. Each phase will include multiple private property connections. The project team will notify affected properties as schedules and impacts are confirmed.

  • The traffic signal subcontractor is expected to complete the installation of the traffic signal foundations at the intersection of Lincoln Road and West Avenue.

Two-Week Look Ahead Schedule You can view the contractor's full current schedule anytime under the “Two-Week Look Aheads” tab on the City’s project page: West Avenue Project Page. It outlines ongoing and upcoming construction activities, including where crews are expected to be working and what type of work will be performed.
