West Avenue Phase II Project Update: Lincoln Court Drainage Installation Begins Monday, Aug 24
Good morning,
As part of the West Avenue Neighborhood Improvements Project, the contractor will begin installing stormwater drainage pipe on Lincoln Court north of Lincoln Road starting Monday, August 24.
Lincoln Court may be one lane in and out during the work. Motorists entering and exiting the area should allow for extra travel time. The pedestrian bridge will also remain closed to allow the contractor to safely perform stormwater drainage installation.
As with the drainage installation at the intersection of Lincoln Court and Lincoln Road, this work requires excavation, heavy equipment and active construction operations within the narrow Lincoln Court corridor. Due to the limited width of the roadway, there is not enough space to safely accommodate construction activities while maintaining a two lane roadway, pedestrian access and bicycle access. The continued bridge closure is necessary to provide a safe work area for both the public and construction crews.
Please note that this schedule may change due to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances. We appreciated everyone's patience and cooperation as these improvements progress.
What to expect
Residential buildings on Lincoln Court will remain accessible throughout the length of the operation.
Motorists should allow additional travel time and expect intermittent delays as the drainage installation progresses.
Pedestrians and bicyclists should continue to use West Avenue as the alternate route to the pedestrian bridge.
This work is expected to take approximately one and a half weeks.
